Things are looking …
Things are looking great, love your set up. How long do you leave the lids on your stuff, espicially the ones in the dark? I did some pansies and silver falls and couple of other things, just kind of guessed when to take the lid off and give up on anything else sprouting. You were right on the licorice plant taking forever to germ. I am just seeing a few sprouts coming. I tried some spike plants and am not seeing anything yet on those. Patience I guess.

@loislaney23 , thanks Lois, as soon as I see a few sprouted, I take them off the heating mat and off comes the lids then, place under lights usually the rest will germ. However not always all will germ, just have to use your own judgement. Leaving them on the heating mat too long causes some leggy seedlings.

Very innovative …
Very innovative setup! I really find the solar panel very interesting to be used with hydroponics. I believe this is a tool that can help create better results in hydroponics gardening. But I think that you should put a removable cover for the whole area where your system is installed to protect your plants from pests as well the snow during winter. Also, leaving the water containers open can be a little risky because doing that can help promote the spread of algae inside your water reservoir.

I typically do have covers for the water containers, but I removed them for making the video. Not so much so for concerns for algae, but to keep the local mosquito population at bay. As far as making a cover for the solar panel, I am pretty far south in Texas so snow is not a problem. I did try putting netting over my tomato plants to keep the birds away and that seemed to work fine. Thanks!

Tiger Bloom is 1 part of a 3 part base nutrients from Fox Farm.You have to use all 3 of Fox Farms base nutes on a schedule, and then use your Bloom Enhancers in the flowering cycle.I use Advance Nutrients Bud Blood the first week of flowering then Big Bud for weeks 2 through 7, then I use Overdrive the last week before flushing. All this with the 3 base Fox Farm nutrients works really well and it’s pretty cheap.Fox Farm has a 3 part enhancer to but it makes your final product taste like chems.

If you are using Big Bud during flowering how much of your Bloom fertilizer are you supposed to use? I am going to use Flora Nova which says to use a 3 tsp, i am wondering if i should use half that while using Big Bud, and I’m in SOIL not hydro… gracias
