As medical marijuana growers, we need to feel safe with hydroponics retailers, hydroponics manufacturers, and hydroponics media because even though what we do is legal according to state laws, people can still mess with you if you grow marijuana. So trust is everything. You gotta know that people are 100% totally chill with you growing medical marijuana, that they are not dissing marijuana growers, that they are not ashamed to be part of the marijuana community.
So when Maximum Yield magazine brought its indoor gardening expo to San Francisco in July, 2011, it ignited an important debate about trust and honesty in the hydroponics community.
As we look forward to travel, feasting, and enjoying friends and family during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, hydroponics medical marijuana growers can claim a special connection to Thanksgiving…and some very special reasons to be thankful.

What I’m talking about is this: Some people claim carbohydrates cannot be absorbed by plants at all, and that carbohydrate supplements are little more than snake oil.
Others agree your crops could use an extra boost, but they wrongly assert that carbs cannot be taken up by the roots. Better to apply them by foliar spray, they say. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth.
And believe it or not, there are even old-timers who still insist that all you need is molasses. High-grade molasses which is low in sulfur can indeed benefit your plants (if it doesn’t clog up your lines). But what your crops really need is the full spectrum of carbohydrates that matches their species profile.
Let’s face it, with so many contradictory viewpoints and misinformation out there, it is no wonder so many growers feel confused. The forums, as always, are abuzz with advice. Everyone has an opinion, and different people will tell you different things.
But what does the science say?

Astonishingly, every time you go into your local hydroponics store and look at nutrient companies’ product labels you’re being robbed of the truth and being forced to make a decision with incomplete information you would need to make the right choice.
That’s right, you don’t have the right to know the truth or what’s really in the product you’re paying for.
But then, under close observation you notice both of the labels have exactly the same ingredients listed on them. One of the bloom enhancers is a little more money than the other so you think, “Hey I’ll save the extra money and buy the one that costs less,” which under normal circumstances would be the right thing to do.
Only problem is… the one that was a little more money contained a whole lot more ingredients that you weren’t aware of because they weren’t listed on the label. The reality is the other bloom enhancer – the one you didn’t chose – would have actually given you significantly bigger flowers and yield.
Moreover, the bloom enhancer you didn’t chose would easily do this for you because it contained an additional twenty amino acids, citric and ascorbic acid. Plus a whole bunch of other goodies that were not allowed to be put on the label under any circumstances in any way.
